  • DAZN already offers betting services
  • Sector could be subject to more scrutiny in the future

DAZN has agreed a deal with Polymarket to bring prediction markets to its digital sports platform in the US.

Prediction markets see customers exchange contracts tied to the result of a particular sporting event, with their value appreciating or depreciating accordingly.

Under the terms of the agreement, Polymarket data will be integrated into live sporting broadcasts on DAZN’s platform, complementing its existing betting offering. The functionality will rollout in the coming months.

Prediction markets operate under federal commodities and derivatives regulation rather than traditional state gambling laws. This means the service can be offered in US states where betting is not legal.

FanDuel has also launched an exchange, joining early movers Kalshi and Polymarket in the market, while Fanatics and DraftKings also have plans to follow suit.

However, the emergence of prediction market operators has triggered several legal clashes with state regulators, many of whom believe they are forms of gambling and should therefore be subject to their oversight.

Nonetheless, DAZN sees prediction markets as a means to further engage its fans, ensuring they spend more time and money its platform, joining a growing suite of services that also includes ticketing, e-commerce and interactive capabilities, complementing its core live streaming offering.

“DAZN is laser-focused on bringing fans closer to the sports they love. Through our partnership with Polymarket – the world’s largest prediction market – we will offer another immersive and exciting way for fans to experience sport. Integrating prediction trading will be an excellent addition to our platform,” said Shay Segev, DAZN chief executive.

“Every sporting event is a conversation about what happens next,” added Shayne Coplan, Polymarket chief executive. “Polymarket turns that conversation into real-time probabilities, shaped by millions of users around the world. Through our first-of-its-kind partnership with DAZN, we’re embedding those insights directly into the viewing experience—from boxing to the Champions League—so fans can track momentum, debate outcomes, and engage with sports in a way that’s never existed before.”
