The 2026 edition of French soccer’s Trophée des Champions will be the first European soccer game to feature AI-translated commentary, provided by Camb.AI.

- Trophée des Champions to be contested between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Olympique de Marseille on 8th January in Kuwait City
- Game will be provided live Italian language commentary on Ligue 1+, translated from the original French commentary
- AI to assist and provide expertise to the French Professional League (LFP)
Context:
The LFP said the AI-translated commentary feature was part of its goal to further develop French soccer in international markets. It will be available on its Ligue 1+ direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming service, which was launched ahead of the 2025/26 campaign to show the majority of Ligue 1 games after the league failed to land a new domestic broadcast deal.
Camb. AI has previously worked with Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2024 to translate a game from its developmental league in four different languages using AI. The US league claimed it was the first live sporting event to be shown simultaneously in multiple languages using AI tech.
