Artificial intelligence (AI) video specialist WSC Sports has acquired Partnerbrite, allowing it to combine content creation and sponsorship activation capabilities into a single platform.

Key details:

  • Partnerbrite’s tech will be integrated into WSC stack
  • Customers will be able to activate on content whilst retaining ownership of first party data
  • Deal is WSC Sports second major acquisition in the past year after Infront Labs

Context:

WSC’s video tech uses AI to automatically clip the most exciting and relevant moments of major sporting events and package them so they can be distributed across first and third party platforms.

This allows leagues, teams and federations to automate and scale their content operation far beyond what would be possible using manual methods and is essential for creating videos that are customised not just for individual platforms but, increasingly, individual users.

This expansion will allow WSC to offer a more end-to-end service, allowing it to retain and increase market share whilst keeping control of valuable first party

Comment:

“Sports fandom is built on emotion and immediacy, but translating that engagement into commercial impact has always been a challenge,” said Daniel Shichman, chief executive of WSC Sports. “By bringing Partnerbrite into the WSC Sports ecosystem, we are giving rights holders and brands a clear execution path.”

“Partnerbrite was built to modernise sponsorship. Joining WSC Sports accelerates that mission, combining activation with world-class content technology to help rightsholders unlock significant incremental revenue and brands to engage fans in the moments that matter most,” added Nick Lockwood, managing director of Partnerbrite.
